Our Recent Open Day
Vale of Rheidol staff spent time chatting with visitors throughout the day. Team members joined each carriage and were available to answer questions – although the spectacular views often stole the show!
As Community Tourism Ambassador, I had the chance to meet new faces and reconnect with those I’ve worked with over the last twenty-five years. A real highlight was meeting all the property owners who joined us.
We’re planning a similar open day in March 2026, and we’d love to welcome as many property owners as possible.

Pete Waterman’s World Record Model Railway Exhibition
From 25 October to 2 November 2025, visit the Vale of Rheidol Railway to see the largest portable model railway in the world! Owned by record producer, songwriter, and TV personality Pete Waterman, this incredible display is an attraction within an attraction.
Control live model trains with tablets, explore rolling stock from every rail era, and become part of the action – not just a spectator. Pre-booking is not essential.
